“All About DBT” is a comprehensive training designed to educate mental health professionals on the foundational theories, treatment stages, strategies, and practical skills of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Drawing on research, clinical experience, and the biosocial theory of emotion dysregulation, this training provides participants with both the theoretical framework and hands-on tools necessary to implement DBT across a variety of clinical settings and populations. The training emphasizes a balanced approach to acceptance and change and integrates cultural considerations, case management, and skills training.

Describe the foundations of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as an evidence-based practice (EBP).

Identify the developmental origins of DBT and the research that supports its efficacy as well as the cultural considerations of its use.

Identify and evaluate Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) symptoms and the criteria for a BPD diagnosis.

Communicate the underlying theory of emotion dysregulation as a result of the transaction between bio and social.

Differentiate between standard and adapted DBT. They will be able to determine how DBT can be utilized in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.

Identify the implications for DBT treatment given the understanding of the Biosocial theory and the intervention’s foundations.

Determine appropriate stage of treatment and corresponding treatment targets.

Utilize a variety of treatment strategies and procedures to best meet the current treatment target(s) of their clients.

Hannah is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in DBT. She completed her DBT Intensive Training through Behavioral Tech, LLC and has extensive experience facilitating individual and group therapy, working with individuals in crisis, and providing supervision and consultation. Hannah has worked in a variety of settings and currently has a private practice focused on emotion regulation disorders, eating disorders, and women’s issues. Hannah provides trainings on DBT, suicide preventions, and is adjunct faculty at Gonzaga University.
